OUR NEED
Programs
Financial donations (tax exempt) to keep our free and affordable programs for youth running. The most productive donations are unrestricted and for the general support of the Conservatory. You may also specify how you would like your donation to be spent. Example: $75.00 Ballet Program Donation. Donations may also be given to pay for an individual student's annual cost of being in the program. Example: $350.00 Student Performing Arts Scholarship from the Ross Family.
Supplies
Office Supplies like paper and printer ink our are chief needs. We also accept donations of books, music, computer supplies, costumes...
Equipment
New or gently used equipment. Most importantly a Ballet Barre for ballet classes and Gymnastic Mats for tumbling
Volunteers, Artists, Craftsmen*
People are needed to serve as volunteers for special events lik our recital, summer park performance series and community service trips. We also need extra hands and minds for homework help, backstage aides, chaperoning and student preparation. Volunteers (especially Spanish speaking but not necc.) who can commit more time can support our afterschool or weekend classes by serving as class monitors and more. If you are a teacher, artist and or craftsman and have a special skill that you want to pass on to youth please contact us. Past artists have taught the children Jewish Folkloric Dance, Chinese Folk Dance and Salsa Dancing. We are interested in storytellers, writers and people who will share their culture and craft.
Building/Permanent Space
Thankfully Goodwill Industries has allowed the Conservatory to be housed in their Beacon program space. The staff is fabulous and the space is clean, safe and spacious but not totally suited for the arts (mirrored studio, dressing rooms). We are seeking funding for a permanent space so that we may expand our programming and services and fulfill our mission. If you are interested in being on our Building Committee please contact us.
Services
If you are part of a service company and want to contribute to the Conservatory or sponsor one of our dance or cheerleading teams don't hold back! Printing or clothing companies who fully sponsor a team will have their company name displayed on our warm-ups and uniforms and in all of our pubilicity materials.
Transportation
The Conservatory would welcome the purchase of a 16 Passenger Van for an afterschool shuttle service to the beacon and for performance and community service trips.
NOTE: Unless specified as anonymous all donations and volunteerism are publicized in our programs, publicity materials and on our website. Please see our HOW TO GIVE SECTION for more information on how donors and and volunteers are acknowledged and thanked.
*Volunteers undergo an application process, background check and are supervised when in contact with the students.
